SPORTS

Providing opportunities for people to develop relationships, grow friendships, and strengthen one another in life and faith as we participate in our favorite sports, hobbies and other forms of recreation and athletics. First Presbyterian’s Recreation Ministry strives to be a family affair. It is with this in mind that we hope everyone in your family will find opportunity for activity and fellowship. It is our purpose to provide a program for youth and adults that will attract people from the surrounding community and provide them with a warm and welcome introduction to the church, encourage church members and attendees to reach out to friends, family, and neighbors by inviting them to participate, and create an environment that is conducive to building relationships, discipleship, and fellowship.

Programs

Aerobics

Low-impact exercise class for all ages and fitness levels. The hour-long workout involves cardio, weight training, and stretching – a total exercise class!

Basketball

Christian Youth Basketball League: Dedicated to guiding students to a more committed relationship with Christ as they develop socially, physically, and spiritually. Athletics provide a unique environment for demonstrating and teaching the virtues of self-control, patience, love, service, respect for authority, ethics, leadership, hard work, and dedication, as they relate to the teachings of Jesus Christ and Biblical principles. Basketball teams are available for girls and boys, 2nd-12th grade. CYBL runs November through February. Summer Camps are held in July for 1st-8th graders.

Men's Basketball: Open game for men is held weekly in the Family Life Center. 
We gather for devotion will be given at halftime.

Thursdays 5:30 p.m. | 18+ 

Core Strength & Stretching

A Christ-centered exercise class that incorporates faith with building core strength and flexibility. A scripture verse will be shared at each class. This class will provide an opportunity for participants to improve balance, posture, digestion, sleep quality, and reduce stress and anxiety. It is open to men and women of all ages and fitness levels.

Golf

We host two adult golf tournaments a year for men and women. One in the fall and a second in the spring. In April a golf clinic is offered for 6 years-old and up to introduce golf skills. 

Special Needs

We host at least two annual events to engage in sports with our Friendship Club. The Special Needs March Madness is held annually in the Spring and includes a variety of activates our friends can engage in, lunch, and a devotional time. The Special Needs Basketball Bonanza in held in the Fall and includes basketball skill instruction and short games.
