Haiti - H.U.G. (Haiti Under God)
First Presbyterian Church has ministered in Haiti through the ministry of HUG (Haiti Under God). Along with supporting HUG, groups have gone to help with construction projects, children’s ministry, and medical clinics. Key to this effort has been Haitian pastor Maxeau and FPC elder Bruce Williams.
United Kingdom - Leith, Scotland & Cardiff, Wales
Rosalynd and Athole Rennie have led the effort to establish Grace Church Leith in the Leith area of Edinburgh, Scotland. Athole and Rosalynd, along with the growing church, have been reaching out to their community by hosting gatherings and building friendships for the sake of the Gospel. They have three children: Erskine, Abigail, and Grace.
In Cardiff, Wales, Fiona and Mark Johnston lead an effort to revitalize Bethel Presbyterian Church. The church slowly grows, attracting new people including Cardiff area college students. The Johnstons have two adult children.
Pakistan - Christian Hospital Sahiwal
Rhoda and Keith Ackerman serve in Sahiwal, Pakistan, where Keith is the Director of Christian Hospital. The hospital, established in 1915, is a medical ministry of World Witness. It is a 170 bed hospital seeking to represent Christ and the Gospel through excellent medical care.
FPC has been involved with the hospital, and other aspects of ministry in Pakistan, for a number of years.
Uganda - Africa Reformation Theological Seminary
Africa Reformation Theological Seminary (ARTS), Kampala Uganda, is a work of the Presbyterian Church of Uganda. The mission is to prepare and equip pastors, preachers, church planters, evangelists, and church leaders for positions of leadership in the church. First Presbyterian Church helps with scholarships for students and sends medical mission teams to minister in villages where the Presbyterian Church of Uganda has work.
