Music Ministry

It is good to give thanks to the LORD,
to sing praise to your name, O Most High;
to declare your steadfast love in the morning,
and your faithfulness by night,
to the music of the lute and the harp,
to the melody of the lyre.
For you, O LORD, have made me glad by your work;
at the works of your hands I sing for joy.
(Psalm 92:1-4)

The Music Ministry of First Presbyterian Church seeks to worship God according to His Word.  Since the church’s calling is to proclaim the excellencies of the God, who has called us out of darkness into his marvelous light (1 Peter 3:9), the worship music at First Presbyterian Church should always have as its “chief end…to glorify God and enjoy him”
   (Psalm 86:9-12; Psalm 108:1-5).

Our prayer is that our worship at First Presbyterian Church will be offered in humility, in the knowledge of our great need for the Lord’s saving grace, and in the joy of God’s saving work in Jesus Christ.  May we truly desire to love and glorify God in the splendor of holiness (Psalm 96:9).

We offer various opportunities to worship God through many styles of music, representing the talents and gifts of our fellowship.  We hope you will consider using your gifts to help us lead God’s people in holy and reverent worship.
